Update from Grace Carpenter

Alex had some really good news just before Christmas. He has been offered a place at Oxford University to study Maths and Philosophy. We are just so pleased for him because it feels like exactly the right place for him to be and the right subjects for him to be studying.
He seems to feel really at home in that environment. He seems to have come across a few quite eccentric academics with whom he clearly identifies. I’m just so happy for Alex that he’ll be going to a place where he’ll be normal!
I feel home education has served my elder son equally well by giving him the courage not to pursue an academic path even though he is academically able, but to follow the creative path that is right for him.
